Terraria Tree Growth Requirements

Giant luminous mushrooms have a similar space requirement to trees, but cannot be planted; Instead, they will “self-spawn” and randomly appear completely adult on the mushroom grass. Mahogany can also spawn on jungle grass themselves (if there is space), but can also be planted with acorns. Cactus and bamboo stems require much less space, but can also spawn on any variant of sand or water-covered jungle grass. “Infected” sand produces cacti that look different depending on the type of sand, but are otherwise identical. Jungle trees can be found in the jungle, and another variant appears in the underground jungle. Jungle trees fall rich in mahogany wood, but usually no acorns; However, if a branch hangs over a block of non-jungle grass, like regular grass, that branch can rarely drop an acorn. They tend to grow higher than normal trees: up to 21 blocks. In the jungle, the trees are made of rich mahogany; In The Corruption, The Crimson and The Hallow, the trees consist of ebony wood (purple foliage), shade wood (red foliage) and pearl wood (rainbow leaves). Other trees are transformed into these types when corruption, purple or sanctification is distributed among the blocks from which they are grown.

The ocean/desert biome contains palm trees and the snow biome contains boreal trees. Just as a tree needs horizontal open spaces to grow, it also needs vertical distances. Trees need at least 16 blocks of vertical space to grow fully. If hindered, the growth of a tree is atrophied. The only mechanism I don`t have in the tree farm of this world is my automatic mowing mechanism. I use a pressure plate-activated dart trap to fly above the ground, and it “mows the edge” along the ground. Makes picking mushrooms quick and picking locusts easy. CAUTION: Birds and hares are endangered with this method.

All types of trees. From left to right: Purity/Forest, Corruption, Purple, Saints, Snow, Beach, Jungle/Underground Jungle, Mushroom. I found it effective to make or find a long flat shot, then I put my torch after two blocks, I put an acorn – then again I walked two blocks, then a torch, then two blocks, then an acorn. ECT trees cannot be grown on the edge of a step or cliff, next to a step or cliff, or on the edge of a piece of grass, although you can plant acorns in them. While trees can very rarely grow at a distance of three tiles from each other (two empty columns in between), they grow much faster at a distance of four tiles (with three empty spaces between them). For these reasons, it is recommended to plant acorns all four tiles on a long flat row of surface grass. Acorn gemcorns made of gemstones that can be planted in the ground to grow a gemstone tree. These trees, in turn, can be harvested to acquire more gems and grains. Players may not immediately know how to acquire or even plant the noble grains. This guide is designed to help players understand the new feature. Gemstone seedlings grow at the rate of normal tree sowing.

The tree drops 0 to 24 gems of its type, 0 to 11 precious grains of its type and 7 to 48 blocks of stone when cut with an axe. The type of tree is determined by the type of noble grain planted. Noble grains can also be made from a gemstone and an acorn. There are also giant trees that naturally spawn called living trees that can be harvested for wood. On the older generation console version, the Nintendo 3DS version, and the older hard-mode tModLoader version, corruption and purple spread through the mud and replace it with dirt, and the mahogany turns into the respective infected trees. Because the soil is turned into soil, cleaning up an infection turns an infected tree into a forest tree, so mahogany cannot be restored once infected. It is possible to cut parts of the tree, but cutting on the lowest central tile destroys the whole tree. If parts of the tree remain, they do not grow back. Tiles under trees cannot be destroyed or used. Mahogany can be found in the jungle and underground jungle. They can be planted on jungle grass in any biome.
